Our fingers and wrists have to be able to move in different sorts of directions. We have to be able to hold a pen, write on a pc, texting, peel potatoes, etc. This requires quite a lot of muscles, each of which has some functions.

The vast majority of muscles in the hands and fingers are located in the forearm, simply because there wouldn’t be any space for them in the hands alone. Most of these muscles are located in the top part of the forearm, and ends out as long tendons in the hands and fingers.

We use our forearms musculature a lot on a daily basis, often static and repetitive which gives frequent troubles such as lateral epicondylitis & repetitive strain injury.
