Collarbone luxation / Dislocated collarbone
Rehab training of the injury
Rehab 1 – Rehab 2 – Rehab 3 – Rehab 4
Acute phase:
You should begin as the acute phase from the start, even if 12 hours or more have elapsed before you get started.
0-5 min. (or as soon as possible after injury)
- Elevate the shoulder over heart level.
- Apply a tight compression band if possible or squeeze your hands around your shoulder.
5-40 min. While applying ice
- Lying down make low circular movements with the shoulder joint to the pain limit, thus allowing the fluid to be removed by the body so that the swelling dissipates as much as possible.
The rest of Day 1 and Day 2.
- Keep a tight compression band on for the rest of the day, but make sure it is not so tight that the arm starts to sleep or you experience numbing.
- Lying down make low circular movements with the shoulder joint as much as possible.
- Use the shoulder minimally and stop immediately if you experience pain.
Sub acute phase:
Day 3-100
- Begin shoulder rehab 1-4.
- Use the shoulder as normal as possible as long as there is no pain associated with it.
- Use support bandages, sport taping or kinesiology tape when you return to sports and exercise.
