Using a splint for anterior cruciate ligament injury
- Day 1 apply and lock the splint at 30 degrees.
- Sleep with the splint for 21 days.
- Day 2-14 lock the splint to 90 degrees flexion (bend) and 30 degree extension (stretch)
- Day 15-21 begin to exercise without splint, the splint is locked in 90 degrees flexion (bending) and 0 degrees extension (stretch).
Using a splint for posterior cruciate ligament injury
- Day 1 to Week 4, the splint is locked at 60 flexion (bending) and 0 degree extension (stretch).
- Sleep with splint for 4 weeks.
- Week 4 and onwards, take off the splint to increase flexion (bending), but be careful not to over-extend (hyper-extend) the knee.
